Where can I use my Carers Passport Discount Card?
Frequently asked questions

  • Who is eligible to receive a Carers Passport Discount Card?

    If you are an unpaid carer and live, work, or the person you support lives in Hertfordshire, you are eligible for a Carers Passport Discount Card. The following groups are not eligible though:

    • Foster parents
    • Care workers/paid workers
    • Kinship carers where the child does not have a disability or condition
  • How do I replace my lost card?

    If you need a replacement card, please contact us to request a new one.

    You do not need to complete the online application form again.

  • How do I renew my expired card?

    We post a renewal form to you about a month before your card expires, just so that we can check a few details. If you did not receive this or have lost it, please contact us to be sent another. We will reissue your card once we have received the completed form.

  • I have been refused a discount that you say is available. What do I do?

    We are aware of some offers that have changed or are no longer available – these are listed below. If the offer you were refused does not appear below, please contact us.

    Abbey Pharmacy, Abbots Langley

    Please be advised that Abbey Pharmacy in Abbots Langley is now under new management. They have confirmed that with immediate effect they are no longer able to participate in the Carers Passport Service and have removed their previous 10% discount. We would like to offer our huge thanks to Abbey Pharmacy for their previous ongoing support of unpaid carers via the Carers Passport service.

    Ana Rodriguez Fitness

    Ana Rodriquez Fitness is no longer operating in Hertfordshire, so the Carers Passport offer is no longer available. We thank Ana for thinking of carers while she was in the area!

    Arena Stationers, Letchworth Garden City

    Please be advised that Arena Stationers have now ceased business and their shop in Letchworth Garden City is now closed. We are enormously grateful for their previous support of unpaid carers and would like to thank them for their many years of supporting the Carers Passport Service.

    GPC Opticians, Stevenage

    Please be advised that GPC Opticians in Stevenage are now under new ownership and as such are no longer able to offer their previous 10% Carers Passport discount. We would like to thank GPC Opticians for their previous long-term support of unpaid carers via the Carers Passport Service and we hope in time it may be possible to revisit this. For the time-being please be advised there is no Carers Passport discount available.

    Kingfisher Court Cafe, Radlett

    The offer of a 20% discount at Kingfisher Court’s café is currently on hold while arrangements are made with the new management.

    Nuffield Relaxation Area, Bishops Stortford

    Please be advised that with immediate effect The Nuffield Relaxation Area in Bishops Stortford are no longer able to offer a discount via the Carers Passport Service. We would like to offer our huge thanks to the Nuffield Relaxation Area for their previous support of unpaid carers via this service and wish them well for the future. We are however delighted to confirm that Nuffield Health (gym) in Bishops Stortford have kindly re-confirmed they remain onboard with the service, offering unpaid carers their corporate rate for wellbeing membership (strictly upon production of a Carers Passport photo ID card). Thank you Nuffield Health for your ongoing support and recognition of unpaid family and friend carers.

    Odyssey Health Club and Spa, Stevenage

    Please be advised that with immediate effect Odyssey Health Club + Spa are no longer able to offer a discount via the Carers Passport Service. We would like to thank Odyssey Health Club + Spa as we are enormously grateful for their previous long-term support of unpaid carers via the Carers Passport Service. We hope in time it may be possible to revert this but for the time-being please note they are unable to offer discounts.

    Paradise Wildlife Park, Broxbourne

    Unfortunately the discount for Carers Passport Discount Card holders is no longer available at Paradise Wildlife Park. We appreciate Paradise Wildlife Park continuing to support unpaid carers and our Carers’ Passport Discount Card Service.

    Relax ‘n’ Revitalise, Letchworth

    Please be advised that with immediate effect Relax ’n’ Revitalise (previously based at the Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living) is no longer trading, and, as such, no longer able to offer a discount via the Carers Passport Service. We are hugely grateful for the previous support they have given unpaid carers and we would like to thank them for their many years of supporting the Carers Passport Service.

    Standalone Farm

    Please be advised that with immediate effect Standalone Farm are no longer able to offer a Carers Passport discount.
    Standalone Farm do however still offer a free ticket for carers when booked alongside a paid disabled ticket (see below).

    Disabled tickets are charged at the standard ticket price (£8.00 for adults and £7.00 for a child ticket).
    Carers can enter the farm for free when booked alongside a paid disabled ticket.
    They accept the following valid photographic identification:

    • Carer’s Passport (photo ID)
    • Discount Card
    • DLA letter shown alongside photo ID (drivers’ licence or passport)
    • PIP letter shown alongside photo ID (drivers’ licence or passport)

    Virgin Experience Holidays

    Please be advised that Virgin Experience Days are currently unable to offer a discount via the Carers Passport Service. We are enormously grateful to Virgin Experience Days for their previous long-term support of the Carers Passport Service and we hope in time to re-visit this.

  • How can I suggest businesses for the scheme?

    Please contact us to make your suggestion. We can’t promise but we will try to arrange an offer with the business!

  • I've been asked to send you my photo. How do I do this?

    Carers’ photos can be emailed to carerspassport@carersinherts.org.uk with the name and date of birth of the carer. If you need help with this process, please follow this link to our page Sending us your Carers’ Passport photo.

    Alternatively, the photo, with the name and date of birth marked on the back, can be posted to:
