Supporting carers to look after their own physical and emotional wellbeing is very important to us.

We know that carers often neglect their own health and wellbeing in favour of the person they care for.

Caring can be stressful and physically demanding so it's vital that carers take time to look after themselves.

We work in partnership with NHS East and North Herts and Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Groups as well as GP surgeries across the county to make sure carers stay fit and healthy.

The best way of getting support from your local GP surgery is by letting them know you look after someone. By doing this you will be able to arrange appointments at times which suit you and gain extra support and understanding from surgery staff. They will also be able to tell you about Make a Difference for Carers.

If you are not registered as a carer with your GP surgery then let them know the next time you are there; if you have any problems let us know and we can get in touch on your behalf.
